Low carbon Chinatown at Hackney Service Centre
Ling Tan

This art installation was constructed from adapted cardboard boxes and scaffolding, using bespoke-designed brackets.

Built as a multimedia environment, the installation integrates data maps, food-making films, audio stories, and living produce. Each bite-sized element explores the carbon footprint of the food system and its close relationship with food culture and lived experience. Every box—designed to be recyclable and used as a stool—represents a specific climate action, from everyday individual choices to large-scale collective advocacy.
